I recently had to import DVD to Premiere Pro to edit for a client and it had been so long since I had done it, I had to stop and think about it for a while.
I thought that this resource might be helpful for those out there who are in the same boat. To be honest though, it’s actually REALLY easy!
- Copy VOB files to computer and duplicate (this way you have a back-up in case something goes wrong)
- You need to be able to change the file extension from .VOB to .MPG
- If you can’t see the file extension, go to
- Start
- Control Panel
- Folder Options
- Select “View” tab from the top
- Uncheck the box “Hide extensions for known file types”
- Click apply
- If you want to reverse this after you are done, go back in and check the same box
- When asked if you want to change the file extension, select “yes”
- If you can’t see the file extension, go to
- You need to be able to change the file extension from .VOB to .MPG
- Import .MPG files to Premiere Pro as per usual and you are done
I told you this one was easy!
Happy video editing.
